WikiPedia] Sabaton is a Swedish power metal band from Falun. The band was formed in 1999 by lead singer Joakim Brodén, bassist Pär Sundström, guitarists Oskar Montelius and Rikard Sundén, and drummer Richard Larsson, but has gone through multiple lineup changes with Brodén and Sundström remaining the only consistent members. The vast majority of their songs are about historical events, mainly wars and significant battles. Sabaton is considered one of the "big four" power metal bands along with Blind Guardian, DragonForce and Helloween, though the band describe their music as a form of heavy metal.
After signing with Black Lodge, the band released their debut studio album, Primo Victoria on 4 March 2005. Their second studio album, Attero Dominatus was released on 28 July 2006. Metalizer, the band's third studio album was released on 16 March 2007. The fourth studio album, The Art of War was released on 30 May 2008. After signing later to Nuclear Blast, their fifth studio album, Coat of Arms was released in May 2010. Carolus Rex, the band's sixth studio album was released on 25 May 2012. The band's seventh studio album, Heroes was released on 16 May 2024. Their eighth studio album, The Last Stand was released on 19 August 2016. The Great War, the band's ninth studio album was released on 19 July 2019. The band's tenth and most recent studio album, The War to End All Wars was released on 4 March 2022.
As of 2024, the band has released ten studio albums, four live albums, five live DVDs and twenty-nine music videos.
